The Power of Positive Affirmations

Blog

When struggles arise, we are too often hard on ourselves. We are quicker to find criticism in ourselves rather than to give praise and encouragement. I have found that one way to combat this is to utilize the power of positive affirmations. In dark times, these affirmations are there to keep your mind in a steady place. Examples of these might be:

I am good enough.

I believe in myself.

I am learning more each day.

I am stronger than my fears.

Many people all over the world have adapted to these kinds of personal mantras. A few words or sentences that can be repeated to counteract negative thoughts, about ourselves or others, and help us regain control of the thoughts we want. Many people use these affirmations in times of fear, worry, doubt, or sadness. It can also be a boost of motivation when getting through difficult times. It’s meant to keep you motivated and focused on your goals. This type of self-improvement is a continuous act of effort, but you will thank yourself for it.

It is very important to notice and analyze our thoughts and which ones may be helpful or harmful to us. A shift in thinking, a positive mental attitude, is never to be underestimated. With as much negativity that we are exposed to each day, affirmations can definitely help us stay true to our own self.

Repetition and forming new beliefs from these affirmations takes practice, but with time, it may also help you. The power of words is strong, and sometimes we need to say these words to ourselves. It is an act of self-care and kindness. I encourage you to try this simple act for yourself and see if it can help you.
